TikTok influencer Sydney May Crouch has sparked a fierce debate after sharing her list of favourite unique baby names, with some viewers saying they 'are scared' by the choices. The 32-weeks-pregnant content creator, who has over 240,000 followers, posted a video revealing the names she and her partner love but won't be using for their baby girl, whom they have already named Ocean.
Among the names Sydney shared were Nola, Capri, Romee, Arie, Nyla, Novi, and Saylor. She admitted that she had 'never heard anyone' with the name Arie and loved its uniqueness. However, her boyfriend vetoed Saylor because 'it sounds like someone who drives a boat'.
The video has amassed over 1,500 comments, with many users expressing concern. One wrote: 'When parents think of names they totally don't think of the poor kid.' Another simply said: 'I'm scared.'
However, not all feedback was negative. Some praised the names, with one user saying: 'I've never heard the name Capri n now I want another child just to use this.' Another added: 'I have a Romey she's 11 now and always had compliments on how beautiful her name is.'
