ITV has reportedly decided not to bring back I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! South Africa for a third series in the near future, despite strong viewing figures for the recent All Stars spin-off. The second season finale, which saw Adam Thomas crowned Jungle Legend, drew 2.8 million live viewers and generated significant buzz, but a source told The Sun that the show was never intended to be an annual fixture.
The source said: 'The aim was never for it to be made or be on air in 2027, even though there may be an appetite for that right now. The aim was to deliver something as a special show that was on from time to time, not an annual revisit like the main I'm A Celebrity show.' The first series aired in 2023, with Myleene Klass winning, and the second followed earlier this month.
The finale was marked by controversy, including a heated exchange between Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard, who accused Adam of 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating' behaviour. David Haye also heckled Adam, claiming he was not a 'worthy winner'. Several contestants, including Sinitta and Gemma Collins, walked off stage during the live broadcast.
Despite the drama, Adam Thomas won with 58% of the final vote, ahead of Sir Mo Farah (32%) and Harry Redknapp (10%). In a statement on Instagram, Adam said he had 'walked through this journey with my heart first' and took 'full responsibility' for the altercation, adding that he had 'nothing but love for Jimmy'.
The main I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! series is expected to return in late 2026, continuing its annual end-of-year broadcast. The show has run for 25 series since its debut in 2002.
