Hollywood star Ilana Glazer was hailed an 'honorary Scouse queen' as she reflected on her first visit to Liverpool. The Broad City creator shared a series of snaps on Instagram as she revealed she ticked off an item on the bucket list to explore The Beatles' birthplace.
The 39-year-old, who also starred in The Afterparty and Babes, told her 1.1 million Instagram followers: 'I just wrapped a project in Manchester (was my first time in England, straight to Manchester baybay), and I had the chance to visit Liverpool & go on a taxi tour of all the spots that made the Beatles, the Beatles. I'm a Beatles head, was a Beatles witch in my teens (shout out to Brittany Haas) so this just rocked my world.'
'To see where the biggest band in the world came from— Ringo & George's lower-income houses, the orphanage where John played bc he felt like one too, his Auntie's porch where he & Paul wrote their first songs when they were just boys, the house where Paul's mom finally settled after moving her family around so much bc she was a sought after midwife…'
'I legit studied them as a teenager, but to see this and have those “studies” physicalized and crystallized as an adult was breathtaking. I for real felt faint at a point (but I had also taken a liiiil gummy & needed some snacks lol).'
'And to remember John & Paul both lost their mothers as teenagers, after already having started their little band after meeting at church! It was humanizing to the mythological figures of the Fab 4. So, so inspiring & energizing, and the PEOPLE of Liverpool were such mensches. It rocked. Thanks again, Liverpool & the Albert Docks.'
