Henry Cavill has addressed recent speculation about his personal life, asking fans to stop what he described as 'misplaced passion' in a lengthy Instagram post. The 38-year-old actor, best known for his roles in The Witcher and Man of Steel, shared a cosy selfie with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso, 31, as he appealed for positivity.
In the post, Cavill wrote: 'I couldn't help but notice that there has been some social animosity of late... There has been lots of, let's call it speculation for now, about my private life and professional partnerships.' He acknowledged the support of fans but stressed that their assumptions were causing harm to those he cares about.
The actor continued: 'Even your most conservative of negative assumptions about both my personal and professional life just aren't true. Let's embrace this age of social enlightenment together, and move forward with positivity.' He added that he is 'very happy in love, and in life' and asked followers to be happy for him or at least strive to be the best version of themselves.
Cavill made his relationship with Viscuso, a vice president of television and digital studios at Legendary Entertainment, Instagram official in April. The couple were seen walking his dog in London earlier this month. Viscuso previously appeared on MTV's My Super Sweet 16 in 2005.
