Morning Live presenters Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones took a moment just minutes into the show to celebrate some exciting baby news from a fellow BBC star. The duo sent their congratulations to Strictly Come Dancing icon Oti Mabuse, who recently announced she is expecting her second child with her husband, Marius.
Oti Mabuse's Baby Announcement
Oti Mabuse revealed the joyful news on Instagram, posting a playful message that read: "Plot twist…" She went on to say: "We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller. #babynumber2."
The couple, who married 12 years ago, welcomed their first child in 2023. Oti shared an adorable Christmas Day post that year, showing the family in matching pyjamas with their newborn.
Morning Live's Heartfelt Congratulations
During the Tuesday, June 16 episode of the BBC programme, the presenters welcomed Strictly star Michelle Tsiakkas to teach viewers dance moves from Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse’s samba. As they mentioned Oti, Gethin turned to Helen and said: "And Oti, some news of Oti this week?"
Helen added: "Congratulations to Oti Mabuse, she has shared the news that she’s having a second baby, so good luck to you Oti." Gethin responded warmly: "Lovely."
Oti Mabuse's Journey
Oti and Marius met in Germany as dance partners before marrying in 2014. She joined Strictly Come Dancing the following year after moving to the UK. Oti went on to win the glitterball trophy in 2019 with Bill Bailey and left the show in 2022. She has since hosted her own ITV breakfast programme and served as a judge on Dancing with the Stars.
