Helen Flanagan Eyes Coronation Street Return as Rosie Webster

After almost a decade away, Helen Flanagan has set her sights on a potential Coronation Street return, with hopes of reprising her fan-favourite role as Rosie Webster. The actress first walked the famous cobbles in 2000 before leaving the soap in 2012. The 35-year-old then made a huge comeback in 2017 before going on maternity leave the following year with her second child.

Rosie Webster's Storyline

As for her character's storyline, Rosie left Weatherfield behind for a brand new start in Japan. This shock move came after the model pursued a career on reality TV and eventually landed a guest appearance on This Morning and was offered a job on a Japanese game show.

Flanagan's Desire to Return

Almost 10 years later, Flanagan told the Daily Express about making a comeback on the long-running soap and dished on what her character is up to. The mum-of-three admitted: "I would absolutely love to return. I've said that publicly quite a few times. I haven't heard anything yet, but I really hope Rosie comes back at some point."

Dream Role as Rovers Barmaid

As for her storyline, Flanagan wants Rosie to finally become one of Rovers Return's iconic barmaids. Speaking via Paddy Power Games, the TV star shared: "I think Rosie should come back as a single mum and leave the kids with Sally while she gets a job in the Rovers Return. I was never actually a Rovers barmaid, and I'd love that. I also think Rosie deserves a massive Coronation Street wedding." Flanagan joked: "Honestly, that might be the closest I get to a wedding at the moment, so I'd love to see Rosie have one."

Life Away from Corrie

Although she has been away from Corrie, the actress has made multiple appearances on screen through reality shows such as Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Ex On The Beach. Flanagan was previously engaged to football player Scott Sinclair, and together they welcomed three children: Matilda, 11, Delilah, eight, and Charlie, five. Sadly, their 13-year relationship ended in 2022, and since then, Flanagan has been open to finding love again but admitted she no longer wants to date for the sake of dating.

Looking for Lasting Love

The 35-year-old told us: "I don't really date anymore because I'm at the stage where I actually want a husband. I don't want to settle or have a boyfriend just for the sake of it. I'd rather wait until I have the relationship I really want, even if that takes until my 40s. I'd rather put my energy into my family, friends and career than be with the wrong person."
