Heather McComb, the former wife of the late James Van Der Beek, has remarried just three months after the actor's death from colorectal cancer. The 49-year-old actress wed actor Scott Michael Campbell in an intimate ceremony in Missoula, Montana, over the weekend, surrounded by family and close friends.
McComb announced the news on Instagram, describing the event as a covenant under God officiated by her sister, actress Essence Atkins. She expressed gratitude for the love and support from those who travelled from across the country to attend, calling the weekend 'truly magical'.
The wedding comes after a period of mourning for McComb, who paid tribute to Van Der Beek following his death on 11 February at the age of 48. In a social media post, she described herself as 'heartbroken' and praised the actor as 'a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humour, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God'.
McComb and Van Der Beek were married from 2003 to 2010 and remained on good terms. Van Der Beek, best known for playing Dawson Leery in 'Dawson's Creek', is survived by his wife Kimberly and their six children.
