Gogglebox Star Simon Minty Returns After Health Scare, Fans Rally Support

Gogglebox favourite Simon Minty has returned to the show after a brief health battle, prompting an outpouring of support from fans. The 44-year-old, who appears alongside his sister Jane, took to Instagram to share an update on his wellbeing and future on the programme.

In a post on Friday (10 April), Simon and Jane uploaded a photo of themselves on the iconic Gogglebox sofa. Simon wrote: 'Gogglebox should be a lot of fun tonight. Happy to be back too after not feeling so well. Hope you enjoy it and you have a lovely weekend ahead.'

Fans were quick to respond with messages of encouragement. One commented: 'Sorry to hear you haven't been well. Hope you're feeling much better now.' Another said: 'Pleased to hear you are feeling better x See you both later.' A third added: 'Lovely to see my two favourite people back on Gogglebox. Hope you're feeling much better Simon. Sending you both much love as always.'

Simon and Jane, who live in Surrey, first joined the Channel 4 programme in 2021 and quickly became fan favourites for their witty observations. Away from the show, Jane works as a chef, while Simon, who was born with restricted growth, is a disability rights advocate.

The siblings returned for the new series of Gogglebox, which began last month. Their comeback comes after the departure of beloved stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle, who left ahead of the 2025 series. New cast members include Jake and Calum from Glasgow, the Gordon family from Surrey, Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds, and Sara and Lara from Yorkshire.
