Hollywood actor Gerard Butler has urged the Scotland national team to 'play like the lions you are' at the World Cup in the United States. The Paisley-born star expressed confidence in the squad, predicting a 2-0 victory over England in the final.
Butler's World Cup Predictions
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland's The Saturday Show, Butler shared his forecasts for the tournament. He predicted Scotland would beat Haiti 2-0 in their opening group match on Sunday morning in Boston, their first World Cup appearance in 28 years. 'I'm confident. I'm really proud of the team we have right now. If there was ever a chance of getting out of the group it is this one,' he said.
Butler added: 'Scotland to win the World Cup. We'll win 2-0, final, hopefully against England.'

The actor, known for his role in '300', joined other famous Scots in Boston for the match. First Minister John Swinney and singer Clare Grogan of Altered Images were also present. Butler praised the team for making the nation proud, saying: 'We get goosebumps. Just go out and play like the lions you are, play with your hearts and have fun.'

Back home, Scotland fans are preparing for late-night viewing parties. Pubs and fanzones across the country are expected to be packed, with many councils extending licensing hours for the group stage matches. Monday June 15 has been declared a bank holiday to mark the occasion.
