Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote Hints at Marriage Split with Cheating Song
Georgia May Foote Posts Heartbreak Song Amid Marriage Split

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has sparked speculation about the collapse of her marriage after sharing a poignant song about infidelity on social media.

Instagram Post Hints at Marital Troubles

The actress, who played Katy Armstrong in the ITV soap for five years, posted a video of Canadian singer Jessie Reyez's track 'Cudn't Be' on Tuesday, featuring lyrics that describe a woman dealing with a cheating partner.

The timing appears significant as Georgia has faced rumours for six months about splitting from husband Kris Evans, whom she married just two years ago in July 2023. The couple had shared a new-build home in Greater Manchester before reports emerged that Kris had moved out.

Revealing Lyrics Tell a Story

The song's powerful lyrics include lines that seem to mirror Georgia's situation: 'I heard that men, men never choose. The one that they really love is the one that they lose' and 'In a suburban house with a woman he settled for.'

Another section states: 'And she lets you go cheat, long as you come home. From searching the streets for someone like the one you let go.'

Georgia has removed her wedding ring and deleted all traces of the musician from her Instagram page, including photos from their wedding day. The couple had kept their romance private since meeting in 2018, becoming engaged in 2021 before tying the knot two years later.

Recent Challenges and Career Struggles

The apparent marriage breakdown comes during a difficult period for the actress, who recently admitted on the Sausage on a Fork podcast that acting work has dried up significantly.

'I came back in the December of 2020 and I just realised, "Oh my God, there's no work,"' she confessed, describing the last few years as 'the quietest time' of her life.

Georgia cited pandemic-related filming delays and writers' strikes as contributing factors to her career challenges. After her Coronation Street character was killed off in a car crash, she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and had a role in The Outpost.

In another blow, her nail salon business burned down last month, which she had started to supplement her income during the acting drought.

Meanwhile, Kris Evans fled to Spain in August to check into a songwriting retreat, leaving Georgia at their Manchester marital home. He posted a cryptic message on social media reading: 'In a time of destruction, write something.'

The actress is currently rehearsing for pantomime in Norwich, attempting to maintain her professional commitments amid the personal turmoil.
