Georgia May Foote Opens Up About Marriage Split and 'Worst Year'

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has spoken publicly for the first time about the breakdown of her marriage to musician Kris Evans. The 34-year-old actress confirmed she is single during a Q&A session with fans on Instagram.

Reports emerged last July that the couple had separated, with Foote removing her wedding ring and deleting all traces of Evans from her social media. A source told The Sun at the time: "Georgia's marriage to Kris seems to be over. It's on the rocks. She's looking to the future and is surrounded by friends and her family."

Foote has described the past year as the "worst" of her life. Sharing a collection of photos on Instagram, she wrote: "I couldn't catch a break, thank god for my friends and family. This has been one of the worst years I've ever experienced. And I know this because literally I couldn't find a single happy period to even post about."

The couple married in 2023 at a log-cabin style venue, two years after getting engaged on New Year's Eve 2021. Foote had previously described Evans as her "best friend" ahead of the wedding. Despite the split, sources say they remain on good terms and continue to live together in their matrimonial home.

Foote played Katy Armstrong on Coronation Street from 2010 to 2015 and later finished as runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 with professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
