Josie Gibson, the 41-year-old This Morning presenter, has disclosed the exact moment her relationship with her son's father, Terry James, fell apart. In a resurfaced interview from 2019, she recalled a cutting comment he made after she spent four days preparing Christmas dinner and cleaning.
Gibson said: 'I spent four days cooking Christmas dinner, getting it all in and preparing it, and spent four days cleaning up and then he went to me: 'You haven't even buffed the sides'.' She responded: 'Buff your own b****y sides.' This led to her and their son Reggie moving out of the family home into a property she rented out.
The former Big Brother star also criticised her ex for sleeping in a campervan when Reggie was just five months old. She claimed: 'We'd come back from the hospital and he didn't even come into the house. He slept in the campervan in the garden, he'd never come in because he needs his sleep. So I got up for all of the night feeds, so it was a build-up of things.'
Gibson revealed that while she had treated her ex to a skiing holiday for Christmas, she received nothing in return, 'not even a card from Reg'. This left her spending New Year's Eve at a hotel with her young son. During lockdown, the couple reunited under the same roof for childcare, but by December 2021, Gibson confirmed Terry had moved out, saying: 'I'm choosing to do it on my own for a little bit at the moment.'
In a 2024 interview with the Standard, Gibson expressed frustration at assumptions about her love life, stating: 'I am so single it's ridiculous. I don't message anybody, I don't text anybody. I haven't even got anybody I fancy.' She appears on Richard Osman's House of Games on BBC Two on June 9 at 6pm.
