George and Amal Clooney have touched down in Sardinia for a family holiday, carrying their one-year-old twins Ella and Alexander from a private jet at the island's airport. The couple, married since 2014, looked ready for a sunshine-filled break, with Amal wearing floral-print trousers and a white vest top, while George opted for cream linen shorts and a white polo shirt.
The family's arrival comes shortly after the Clooneys donated $100,000 to the Young Centre for Immigrant Children's Rights, which advocates for the fair treatment and safety of immigrant children in the deportation process. The donation followed the Trump administration's policy of separating more than 2,000 children from their parents at the US border. In a statement, the couple said: 'At some point in the future our children will ask us: is it true, did our country really take babies from their parents and put them in detention centers? And when we answer yes, they’ll ask us what we did about it. What we said. Where we stood. We can’t change this administration’s policy but we can help defend the victims of it.'
In a rare public tribute, Amal recently spoke about her love for George at the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award gala. She described him as 'the person who has my complete admiration and also the person whose smile makes me melt every time.' She added: 'My love, what I have found with you is the great love I always hoped existed. And seeing you with our children, Ella and Alexander, is the greatest joy in my life.'
The Clooneys, known for their philanthropic work, are expected to enjoy a relaxing break in Sardinia with their twins.
