Gemma Collins is engaged to Rami Hawash once again, marking the third time the couple have become betrothed. The 43-year-old former TOWIE star was surprised by the proposal during a romantic dinner in the Maldives, where Rami had arranged hundreds of roses and thousands of rose petals.
A source told The Sun that Gemma was 'shocked' and had no idea the proposal was coming. 'She didn't know what was happening until a huge platter of cakes came out and as Gemma started eating her mango dessert, Rami surprised her,' the insider said. The words 'Will you marry me?' were lit up in the sand.
The couple first met 14 years ago and had an on-off relationship between 2011 and 2014. They got engaged on Christmas Day 2013 but called it off weeks later. Rami previously attributed the split to Gemma's 'The GC' persona, saying, 'If I could have evicted The GC and lived with Gemma Collins, things would have been different.'
They reunited during the coronavirus pandemic and got engaged again in 2021. However, they postponed their wedding plans in July, with Gemma saying there was 'no rush'. Now, Rami has proposed once more in the Maldives, presenting an 'absolutely amazing' engagement ring.
Gemma has also begun her fertility journey, hoping to start a family with Rami, who already has a son, Tristan, from a previous relationship.
