Gorka Marquez and Gemma Atkinson have delighted fans with a glimpse into their recent couple's trip to Spain, where they are searching for a holiday home. The pair, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, have been plotting their next family move by looking for a second home in Spain.
Their Love Story
Gemma, from Bury, was a contestant on the show alongside professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, while Spanish pro Gorka danced with singer Alexandra Burke. Romance didn't blossom until they joined the Strictly Live tour, going official in early 2018. Over the past seven years, they have welcomed two children—Mia in July 2019 and Thiago in July 2023—and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2021.
Property Hunt in Spain
Last summer, Gemma revealed their travel pact when a follower asked about buying a family home in Spain. She responded: "Absolutely, we’ve been back and forth with estate agents. I need to spend time there though, not just a viewing online. I have to 'feel' like it’s a 2nd home." Over the weekend, the couple headed to Spain to view properties. Gorka shared photos on social media, including loved-up selfies, captioning: "7 years later we took a trip just the 2 of us. It didn’t disappoint!" Gemma replied: "Such a fun few days."
