Oprah Winfrey turned heads at the third Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, showcasing her slimmest figure yet in a stunning purple gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The 69-year-old media mogul accessorised with jewellery from Hamilton Jewelers, exuding elegance at the event.
Her choice of purple paid homage to her role in 'The Colour Purple' and her involvement in its upcoming remake. Winfrey shared a pre-event photo on Instagram with the caption, 'It’s a purple kind of night.'
At the gala, Winfrey received The Pillar Award for her contributions to the Academy Museum, recognising her impact on arts and culture. She has been open about her weight loss journey, which has been under public scrutiny for decades.
During a recent panel for Oprah Daily's 'The Life You Want' series, Winfrey addressed the Ozempic debate, stating she chose not to use the drug. 'I've got to do this on my own because if I take the drug, that's the easy way out,' she said, emphasising her commitment to natural health and wellness.
Reflecting on her lifelong struggle with weight, Winfrey said, 'My highest weight was 237 lbs. I don’t know if there is another public person whose weight struggle has been exploited as much as mine over the years.' She urged for greater acceptance of different body types, adding, 'Shouldn't we all just be more accepting of whatever body you choose to be in?'
