Wales legend Gareth Bale is continuing to enjoy his life after football, sharing snaps and videos from an incredible fun-filled trip to Dubai recently. The 37-year-old could be seen enjoying himself on the beach, where he showed off his incredible physique and indeed his long-enduring footballing talents by doing a few keepy-uppies.
Dubai trip and Real Madrid reunion
He also gave fans a glimpse into a game of padel with his wife, Emma, while there was also, unsurprisingly, time for a round of golf. Bale also reunited with former Real Madrid team-mate Marcelo at the Euroleague Supercup, which saw Real's basketball team triumph over Olympiacos at the Etihad Arena.
Despite often finding himself the focus of criticism from their fans, Bale clearly still holds a great deal of affection for Real, where he won five Champions League titles and three La Ligas before leaving for LAFC.
Wales career and family life
Before hanging up his boots at the age of 33, Bale won 111 caps for Wales, netting 41 goals, while leading them to three major tournaments. He was also the first player to score for Wales at a World Cup since 1958, scoring from the spot in a 1-1 draw against the United States.
Since retiring, he has been spending more time with his family, including childhood sweetheart Emma Rhys-Jones, whom he married in 2019. The couple have four children: Alba, Nava and Axel, with the youngest Xander born in 2021.
High-profile events and golf
Bale has also been invited to a string of high-profile events in recent years, having been spotted in the front row of fashion shows around the world, while also adding to his modelling portfolio with British luxury fashion brand Burberry. The former Tottenham star has also spent time with a number of famous faces since leaving football, having been snapped with Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, playing Playstation with F1 star Lando Norris and playing golf with Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy has incidentally been very complimentary of Bale's golfing ability, with the former Wales skipper currently holding a handicap of two. "He has the potential to get to scratch [a handicap of zero], the way he hits the ball he could be a scratch player, but he's only played for the last few years," said McIlroy. "There is a difference between being able to hit the golf ball well and getting yourself around the golf course and managing your game – that's the part he's learning now."
