WWE Legend Jim Ross's Wife Dies at 55 After Vespa Accident

Jan Ross, the wife of iconic WWE broadcaster Jim Ross, has died at the age of 55 following a Vespa accident in Oklahoma. She succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, less than two days after the collision.

Jim Ross, 65, announced the tragic news on Twitter, writing: 'A Priest gave my wife Jan her last rites tonight. My little Angel is gone.' Jan suffered a catastrophic brain injury and multiple skull fractures when she was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male while riding home from a local gym on Monday evening.

Ross revealed on his blog that his wife was not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the accident, which he said 'arguably would have prevented the extreme nature of her injuries.' The incident is under investigation in Norman, Oklahoma.

The couple had been married since 1993, having met in the early 1990s when Ross worked for World Championship Wrestling. Ross described Jan as a person who 'never wavered' from his side through his battles with Bell's Palsy, Ambien dependence, colon surgery, and depression.

The wrestling community has rallied around Ross, with figures such as Ric Flair, Dave Meltzer, and many others offering their condolences. Flair recalled meeting Jan with Ross in West Virginia, while Meltzer described her as 'one of the nicest and sweetest people' in the industry.
