ITV has unveiled the first glimpse of its upcoming steamy drama, 'Adultery,' featuring stars from 'Mamma Mia!' and 'Bridgerton.' The series, set to air this autumn, explores a forbidden love affair that threatens to dismantle two families.
A Stacked Cast for a Provocative Tale
The show stars Dominic Cooper, known for his role as Sky in 'Mamma Mia!,' and Romola Garai, acclaimed for period dramas like 'Atonement.' Cooper's recent credits include 'Preacher' and Marvel's 'Iron Man' films, while Garai appeared in ITV's 'Betrayal.'
Joining them are Leila Khan ('Heartstopper') and Johnny Sanpher as the young lovers, with Shelley Conn ('Bridgerton') and Matthew McNulty ('After the Flood') playing the unaware spouses.
Plot Synopsis
Set against the Scottish wilderness, the story follows Tom Kirkman (Cooper) and Beth Brookes (Garai), who share an immediate connection—complicated by the fact that Tom's daughter Jess is in a relationship with Beth's son Ollie. As their forbidden desires grow, they must confront guilt and the potential fallout for their families.
The series is described as a 'provocative love story of passion, parenthood, and peril,' raising questions about class, grief, and social media's effects.

'Adultery' will premiere on ITV and STV this autumn, with streaming available on ITVX and STV Player. The teaser trailer was released on June 16, 2026.
