A former cast member of The Only Way Is Essex, Jordan Wright, was found dead in a drainage ditch in Thailand, an inquest has heard.
The 33-year-old, from Stanford-le-Hope in Essex, was discovered on 14 March in Phuket province, a hearing in Chelmsford was told on Tuesday. Court co-ordinator Matthew Austin informed the inquest that Wright 'was spending time in Thailand' and 'was discovered in a drainage ditch'.
Wright's body was repatriated to Essex, where a post-mortem examination was carried out at Basildon Hospital. His cause of death has been recorded as pending toxicology results.
Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes opened and adjourned the inquest until a substantive hearing on 14 September. He offered his 'deepest condolences' to Wright's family, friends and loved ones.
Wright first appeared on the ITV reality series in 2018 and also featured on MTV's Ex On The Beach. Tributes have poured in, including from fellow Towie star Chloe Brockett, who wrote: 'Rest in peace Jordan.'
