A woman has voiced her frustration at the 'odd' name her former partner selected for his newborn daughter, after his wedding venue choice also left her utterly bewildered. Posting on social media, Mia revealed she'd found the courage to speak out publicly after enjoying a drink.
The Odd Baby Name and Wedding Venue
'I've had two glasses of wine and I need the entire internet to know that my ex named his daughter the same name as the dog we had together (still alive by the way, sitting with me right now) and he got married at the place where I worked when we were together and that is odd!' she exclaimed in a post.
Concluding her outburst, which has already been viewed over 200,000 times, she stated: 'Nobody from my real life text me, I am not taking this down I have been silenced long enough!'
Online Reactions
Mia's post sparked numerous social media users to offer their sympathies, however. One responded: 'That man is still in your chapter while pretending he's on a new book. The workplace wedding and dog name combo is diabolical.'
A second user observed: 'At a certain point it's no longer coincidence and starts feeling like he's building a cinematic universe based on your old relationship.'
A third reflected: 'That is weird, perhaps he lacks imagination? The woman my ex had a fling with when we were together went on to have more children with her (now ex) husband. She gave her daughter the same (unusual at the time) name as our daughter. Bit weird!'
While a fourth recalled a similar experience: 'My ex husband bought his new wife the exact same car I had. Same colour, make, and model. I got a new car the next year. They also lived at the same apartment complex he and I had lived at together previously. How are the women in these situations okay with this?'
Mixed Opinions
Not everyone was sympathetic to Mia's decision to go public, however, with some urging her to keep her personal matters to herself. 'Right now, the strongest move isn't to broadcast it,' one person advised. 'It's to contain it until your emotions settle a bit. Draft it in notes if you need to, don't post it immediately. Also, your dog sitting next to you while you're spiraling into this makes this feel even more intense and real-time emotional. If you still feel the same tomorrow, you'll write it differently and probably with more clarity and less regret. For now, the internet doesn't need this version of the story. You do.'
