A former police officer who was dismissed for sharing racy videos online has been arrested following a fatal car crash and is accused of concealing a pink pistol inside a police vehicle.
Details of the Incident
Nicole Gabriela Verón, aged 20, was a passenger in a high-performance BMW M that allegedly triggered a chain-reaction collision involving two other vehicles on Wednesday, June 3. The violent crash resulted in the death of Hugo Javier López, 48, who was thrown from his pickup truck and died instantly.
Verón was traveling in the BMW with two other women. When Federal Police arrived at the scene on the Riccheri Highway near Ezeiza, Argentina, she approached an officer and complained of feeling unwell.
The Alleged Concealment
An officer allowed her to sit in the back of the patrol car while he and his colleagues assisted the victims and secured the crash site. Minutes later, officers returned and discovered a 9mm pink Bersa pistol loaded with eight bullets allegedly hidden in the patrol car where Verón had been seated.
Prosecutors have charged her with illegal possession of a military-grade firearm. During an inspection of the seized BMW, officers also found a grinder containing traces of marijuana and a strip of appetite-stimulating medication.
Separate Investigations
A separate case has been opened to determine if any drug trafficking activity occurred. Prosecutors in Ezeiza are also investigating the cause of the crash.
Verón was a City of Buenos Aires police officer until she was fired for selling sexual content on an adult content site while wearing her police uniform, according to local media. One clip showed her posing in suspenders, apparently in police attire, holding handcuffs. Many of her videos have amassed millions of views on Instagram and TikTok.
Vehicle and Fines
The BMW is reportedly worth $85,000 (approximately £63,168) and has an outstanding debt of 522,000 Argentine pesos (about £270) with the City Government due to six speeding fines incurred over the past two months. The original total of the fines exceeded 1 million pesos (around £517).
The driver, according to the investigation, is Janine Sochas, another young woman involved in producing adult content. It remains unclear whether any of the three women are currently in custody or have been released on bail.
