Eric Clapton's family is set to grow once again. The 80-year-old guitarist's daughter, Ruth Clapton, announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her third child. The 40-year-old singer and content creator shared the news on Instagram, posting a video with her partner, Peter Greenwood.
In the clip, Ruth reveals her pregnant belly and the couple rubs it before showing sonogram photos. 'We're having a baby! Just over 12 weeks now, due at the end of January 2026. So grateful,' she wrote. This will be Ruth and Peter's first child together. Ruth already has two sons, Isaac, 11, and Theodore, nine, from her previous marriage to Dean Bartlett.
Ruth disclosed that she is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, which she also experienced in her earlier pregnancies. 'It's pretty horrendous,' she said on Instagram Stories. 'It just takes me out. I feel sick all day, every day. Sometimes I am sick all day, every day. You're just so tired.' She credited her partner for support, saying, 'Luckily, I have an amazing partner who just picked up the slack.'
Ruth is the daughter of Eric Clapton and Yvonne Kelly, the manager of AIR Studios Montserrat. Their affair occurred while Clapton was married to Pattie Boyd, and Ruth was kept secret until 1991. After a period of estrangement, Ruth and Eric have reconnected and share a close bond. Eric also has three daughters with his wife Melia: Julie, 24, Ella, 22, and Sophie, 20.
