Emmerdale fans are convinced that serial killer Meena Jutla could return to the village to take down Joe Tate, who has been struggling since the death of his fiancée Dawn Fletcher.
Dawn died from excessive blood loss after giving birth to Joe's son. The labour was brought on early due to the car crash that killed Jimmy King.
Joe's grief and ultimatums
Joe has taken his grief out on those around him. He ordered Dawn's three children out of Home Farm and gave his step-grandmother Kim Tate an ultimatum about Gabby Thomas' future on the estate. He has also decided to give up his baby for adoption, as the newborn reminds him of what he lost.
In the latest episode on Monday (September 28), now streaming on ITVX, Kim arrived at the hospital but discovered Joe had banned anyone from seeing the baby. Kim tried to reason with him, saying: "What on earth's going on? I've just been to the hospital, and I wasn't allowed to see the baby. Apparently, you've withdrawn all visiting rights." Joe replied: "Sounds like you have a pretty good grasp on things."
Kim and Graham's efforts
Joe said it was for Kim's own good, adding: "You are getting too close. You're getting too attached," before revealing plans for a private adoption. Later, Kim and Graham Foster tried to talk to Joe at the Woolpack, but Joe said nothing had changed.
Back at Home Farm, Kim said: "For all we know, he could have gone straight from the pub to the hospital, pretended to take his son home and handed him over to God knows who in the car park." Graham replied: "Well, we have to keep trying."
Fans speculate about Meena's return
As Kim and Graham try to keep the baby in the Tate household, some fans believe Meena Jutla could escape from prison and return to the village. One person wrote on a Facebook fan page: "I wonder if Meena Jutla is gonna comeback to Emmerdale and she's gonna go after Joe Tate." Another said: "Ooh I hope so. Who knows in the crazy world of soapland." A third added: "She'd certainly be a match for him! They'd make a lovely couple!" Someone else shared: "This would be epic!"
