Michelle Hardwick, known for playing Vanessa Woodfield on Emmerdale, has spoken about the 'really sad' reason behind her split from first wife Rosie Nicholl. The actress, who joined the ITV soap in 2012, revealed that the couple drifted apart and she 'grew out of love'.
Hardwick and Nicholl met in 2011 when Hardwick was performing in pantomime and Nicholl played in the orchestra. They married in 2015 at Danby Castle in North Yorkshire. However, in 2017, Hardwick confirmed their separation, telling the Daily Star: 'It was one of those things where we did drift apart... I grew out of love and she became more of my best friend.'
The actress added that the split was mutual and amicable, with no third party involved. They continued living together in separate rooms while the divorce was finalised.
Hardwick later found love with Kate Brooks, a TV executive who worked as a series producer on Emmerdale before becoming producer of Coronation Street. The couple announced their relationship in October 2018 and married at Elvis Presley's Graceland in September 2019. They have two children, a son named Teddy and a daughter named Betty.
