Emma Watson's Secret Oxford Life Revealed

Emma Watson, best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, has revealed a rebellious side that contrasts with her usual modest image. The 23-year-old actress confessed to breaking into a hotel swimming pool at 3am, scaling a 7ft fence while her friends watched in disbelief.

Speaking to Australian Elle magazine, Watson said: 'It was at a hotel, it had a gate around it. My friends turned around and basically I was gone. The next thing they saw was me 7ft up in the air, scaling this fence. I shouldn't be able to get away with what I'm getting away with.'

Despite her wild antics, Watson admitted she enjoys a quiet life at home, particularly cooking. 'Cooking helps me to relax and I think people close to you appreciate a homecooked meal,' she said. The actress, who is studying at Brown University in the US, also plans to celebrate her graduation this year with a large party and intends to 'get very drunk'.

Watson, who played the studious Hermione, acknowledged that her clean-cut image makes it difficult to convince film directors to cast her in more adult roles. 'In my downtime I don't sex myself up much. Sometimes I have a hard time convincing directors I can play more adult roles,' she explained.

The actress also spoke about her new boyfriend, Matt Janney, a 21-year-old rugby player at Oxford University. Watson expressed a desire to protect him from the public eye, saying: 'I don't date people who are famous and I don't think it's fair that, all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me. I wish I could protect them.'

Watson revealed that she was struck by the fact that screen icon Elizabeth Taylor's first kiss was on set, and she feared the same could happen to her. 'I had this sense that if I wasn't really careful, that could be me. That my first kiss could be in somebody else's clothes. And my experiences could all belong to someone else,' she said.
