An EastEnders actor arrested on set following allegations of sexual assault has been cleared of all accusations, police have confirmed.
The man, in his 50s, was arrested on 7 May 2025 after a female extra complained that he had forcibly attempted to kiss her. The incident occurred on the set of the BBC One soap opera at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
Security staff intervened, leading to a scuffle, and filming was halted. The man was later handed over to police and arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault against two alleged victims.
Hertfordshire Police said in a statement: 'A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims. Following initial enquiries, he was released with no further action.'
A source told The Sun at the time that the woman was 'clearly very distressed' and that the incident was 'dramatic', adding: 'It got very heated when the man squared up to the security staff as they tried to calm things.'
An EastEnders spokesperson said: 'While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to safeguard the safety and welfare of everyone who works on the show.'
