EastEnders' Libby Fox Delivers Grim Update on Ex Darren Miller
EastEnders' Libby Fox Shares Grim Darren Miller Update

EastEnders icon Libby Fox has delivered a fleeting update on her ex-flame Darren Miller — and it is hardly encouraging news.

During Wednesday's (June 17) visit to Walford, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) revealed her financial struggles as her young son Jordan remains hospitalised following a car accident involving Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

The anxious mother is juggling her role at Harry's Barn with looking after Jordan, who faces extensive rehabilitation after doctors warned he might never walk again.

Libby (Belinda Owusu) devised a scheme to assist her big sister Chelsea by reaching out to Jordan's biological grandmother, Sheila Atkins, to request monetary support and left her a voicemail.

Subsequently, the sisters attempted to distract themselves from Jordan's situation and their mother, Denise Fox's (Diane Parish) cancer treatment, with a beverage at The Vic.

But a text from Sheila materialised, prompting Libby to swiftly flip her phone face down to conceal it, reports OK!.

As Libby retrieved her phone, she fibbed to Chelsea, claiming the message was from her former boyfriend, Darren Miller.

"Oh, a text from Darren", Libby remarked, feigning surprise as Chelsea quipped, "Urgh, can't a girl move on".

The fleeting exchange confirmed that Libby and Darren are no longer an item, making his comeback to Walford highly improbable.

Who was Darren Miller in EastEnders?

Darren Miller, portrayed by Charlie G Hawkins, landed in Walford in 2004 alongside his family, including his elder brother Mickey, played by Joe Swash, and it did not take the teenager long to discover romance.

After landing a position at Kevin Wicks' motor dealership, he fell in love with Libby, with the couple embarking on a turbulent on-off relationship.

Despite becoming engaged and making plans for their future, the pair called it quits in 2009 when she learned that Darren had fathered Heather Trott (Cheryl Ferguson)'s baby boy, George.

Darren subsequently began dating Jodie Gold (Kylie Babbington), and he made preparations to walk down the aisle once again.

Yet just moments before the service was due to begin, Darren had a change of heart at the eleventh hour and departed Walford solo in the bridal car.

Following their apparent permanent separation, it later emerged that Darren had relocated to Oxford in 2011 to reunite with Libby. Nevertheless, it now seems the duo has parted ways yet again.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer.
