EastEnders' Chelsea haunted by Gray as Jordan recovers

EastEnders’ Chelsea Fox is haunted by her murderous ex Gray Atkins as their son Jordan recovers from a terrifying accident next week. The youngster was knocked over by Ian Beale during Vicki Fowler and Ross Marshall’s wedding celebrations earlier this month.

Further anguish awaits Chelsea and the rest of the Fox-Trueman family when Denise Fox shares news of her recent blood cancer diagnosis with them all in forthcoming scenes. Amid all of her strife, Chelsea is thrown back into Gray’s orbit ahead of the villain’s impending return to the BBC soap.

It all begins when Chelsea’s sister Libby Fox arrives back on the Square to support their mum. Chelsea admits that Gray’s nan, Sheila, has been sending cheques to help support Jordan that she hasn’t cashed. With Chelsea overwhelmed with caring for her young son and the rising costs associated with his recovery, Libby secretly attempts to contact Sheila.

She is interrupted when their stepdad Jack Branning calls them to the hospital to see their mum, who makes them promise to care for one another should anything happen to her. However, the harmony between the sisters is later blown apart when Chelsea notices a text from Sheila on Libby’s phone while at The Vic. Feeling betrayed, Chelsea seeks advice from Eve Panesar-Unwin and ultimately makes peace with Libby, agreeing to call Sheila for help.

With Libby’s support, a nervous Chelsea meets Sheila and is relieved to learn that she has no contact with Gray after probing about their relationship. Sheila then offers financial help for Jordan, which Chelsea initially accepts. However, she later has a change of heart when she’s haunted by thoughts about her evil ex-husband and returns the cash.

Gray has been behind bars since 2022, when he was arrested for killing his first wife Chantelle Atkins, and beloved Walford locals Kush Kazemi and Tina Carter. With it recently revealed that actor Toby-Alexander Smith is reprising his role as the serial killer for a short stint, chaos and heartache are expected upon his return.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 15th June at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
