A restaurant worker in Northern Ireland has offered insight into Eamonn Holmes' new relationship with Katie Alexander, following his split from Ruth Langsford. The former This Morning star, 66, visited Carrickfergus with Katie, 22 years his junior, and dined at Papa Browns four days in a row.
The staff member described Holmes as happy and cheerful with his new partner. 'He came in four days in a row. I noticed his girlfriend had an English accent. They looked happy,' the waiter told The Sun. 'He appeared quite frail and it took a minute to recognise him, but he was always very polite and friendly. Both of them appeared at ease with being seen together.'
Holmes' relationship with Alexander was exposed in May after messages between them were discovered. He had moved into another property, and Alexander was regularly seen visiting him. The pair first met in 2015 when her comment on a social media post sparked a conversation.
A joint statement in May confirmed the end of Holmes and Langsford's 14-year marriage, stating they were 'in the process of divorcing.' A source said they were 'determined to stay friends and keep things amicable,' with busy schedules cited as a contributing factor.
Langsford had previously spoken about Holmes' health issues, saying his mobility might not fully improve. When she found the messages, a source said she was 'completely taken by surprise' and 'devastated.' Holmes had reportedly treated Alexander to a Beyoncé concert, a Center Parcs visit, and Manchester United tickets.
