A former Love Island contestant who was recently booted from the programme has revealed a massive element of the villa that viewers have completely missed. There has been no shortage of dramatic twists and explosive moments causing chaos as the ITV reality series marks its 13th run. The past week has finally witnessed the first wave of eliminations following several brutal shake-ups.
First Eliminations and Aftersun Appearance
Robyn was first to depart after finding herself as the sole girl remaining at the conclusion of a tense recoupling ceremony. Hot on her heels were Ope and Victoria. The pair found themselves gathering their belongings following a truth or dare game that culminated in a shock text instructing them to exit straight away. Nevertheless, they all made a special guest appearance on the latest instalment of Love Island Aftersun.
Presented by Maya Jama and featuring guest panellists Toni Laites, Yasmin Pettet and Joe Baggs, the programme seeks to dissect the freshest drama and deliver exclusive chats with the newly eliminated contestants.
Robyn's Surprise About Angelista
Maya conducted individual interviews with Robyn, then Victoria and Ope, probing for some backstage revelations. She questioned Liverpool-born Robyn about whether she had managed to catch up on any episodes since her departure. She confessed to having watched only 'snippets', prompting Maya to enquire if anything had caught her off guard. Robyn acknowledged she was 'a bit surprised about how some people come across to be honest.'
Pressed for more information, she continued: 'Angelista being one of them. She is an energetic, confident, funny queen. She is honestly one of the best people I have ever met.' Robyn proceeded to explain that the way the show is edited made it seem like viewers had not fully seen what Angelista is truly like. Expressing her hope that this would change soon, she added: 'She is the funniest character and I feel like we have not really seen that side to her. I want to see that more because honest to God she is a doll. She is amazing.'
Family Reactions
Angelista's family were actually present in the audience and her mother relayed a message to Ope, telling him: 'I think you are a lovely guy, just misunderstood. And from the way I saw it from the very start I could tell that you were going to be friends, not romantic. And I think that if you had met in a different situation, you would have got on very well.' Ope was swift to respond saying 'appreciate that' and initiating a round of applause.
Meanwhile, Angelista's sibling chimed in: 'The thing for me, first of all, I am her older brother, I reserve the right not to like someone from the gate. You know, the thing with what she said about being a slow burner. I think there was a chance that there was something there but after the little date situation, I could see it in her eyes, if that had not happened there was a chance of something there.'
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
