Duchess Sophie has been given a new two-word nickname by royal fans after she was spotted sweetly interacting with Prince Louis at the Trooping the Colour celebrations. The 61-year-old attended the historic event marking the monarch's official birthday, where she was captured with the Prince and Princess of Wales' three children.
Sweet Moment with the Wales Children
As the royals watched the parade from a window in the Duke of Wellington's office on Horse Guards Parade, Sophie was seen alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. An Instagram account shared some sweet pictures, captioning them: 'Always amazing to see the Wales children with Sophie! And isn't it adorable to see The Duchess and Princess Charlotte matching in white.'
Fans React with 'Auntie Sophie'
The comments section was flooded with the affectionate nickname 'Auntie Sophie' for the much-loved royal. One comment read: 'Aw auntie Sophie.' Another said: 'Auntie Sophie.' A third commented: 'Auntie Sophie is so cool!!'
Sophie's Place in the Royal Family
Like Catherine, Princess of Wales, Sophie joined the Royal Family through marriage, marrying the late Queen's youngest son, Prince Edward, in 1999. She is also a mother to Lady Louise Windsor, 22, and James, Earl of Wessex, 18.
Sophie previously paid tribute to Princess Charlotte after she was spotted sporting a friendship bracelet back in 2024, thought to have been made for her by Catherine and William's daughter. While attending the Olympic Games in Paris, Sophie was seen wearing a gold bangle and a burgundy friendship bracelet on her left wrist.
