Dragons' Den star Steven Bartlett has announced his engagement to girlfriend Melanie Lopes after proposing on Christmas Day. The 33-year-old entrepreneur, reportedly worth £320 million, popped the question during a holiday in Morocco, presenting Melanie with a diamond ring.
Melanie, also 33, is a French-Portuguese yoga entrepreneur who runs a retreat in Bali. The couple met on Instagram in 2016 and briefly split before Steven flew to Bali to win her back. They now live together in London and Los Angeles, focusing on their careers.
A source told the Daily Mail: 'Steven and Melanie have been together for a long time, but their relationship really went up a notch after they started living together. The proposal happened on Christmas Day while they were on holiday in Morocco. She was thrilled to say yes.'
A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the engagement, saying: 'We can confirm Steven and Melanie are engaged to be married. They are, naturally, both very, very happy.'
