Two curious German Shepherd dogs have impressed their owners after making a jaw-dropping discovery hidden inside their garden shed. The owners, who post online as @laughwithbrett on Instagram, noticed their dogs acting strangely while sniffing and scratching around the side of the shed. At first, they had no idea what had caught the pets' attention so intensely. But moments later, they uncovered two tiny kittens tucked away inside.
Heartwarming Rescue
Sharing the sweet moment online, the owners wrote: "The girls made quite the discovery this weekend. Good nostrils save lives." The video shows the dogs repeatedly pawing and sniffing near the shed before their owners investigate further and realise the tiny animals had been hiding there.
Viewers were instantly invested in the rescue, with many joking that the family had unknowingly been selected by the "cat distribution system" – the internet's playful term for unexpectedly becoming a cat owner. One person commented: "And just like that you now will have two cats to match two dogs." Another joked: "The cat distribution system has spoken. You've been chosen."
Concern for Mother Cat
Others, however, were more concerned about whether there could be additional kittens nearby or if the mother cat was still searching for them. One viewer asked: "Are you sure there's only two kittens?" Another urged the owners to try and locate the mum, writing: "Oh please find the mum. She'll be looking for them."
Thankfully, the owners later revealed the kittens were quickly taken to a local woman who would help to care for them properly. According to the family, the kittens are now being checked over, neutered and taken to the vets to make sure they're healthy and safe.
The wholesome discovery has melted hearts online, with many people praising the dogs for alerting their owners before the kittens were left alone for too long. And while the family may not have expected to uncover hidden kittens beside their shed that day, viewers are convinced the two tiny cats ended up exactly where they were meant to be.
One more user said: "What wonderful girls!! Thank goodness they found them!" A final user added: "I am so glad Mya and Liv found kittens. To those kittens, Mya and Liv were god sent. Wishing kitty best wishes and hope they find a loving home."
