X Factor star Diana Vickers has been criticised after posting a video parodying Queen Camilla and Princess Diana just hours before the Coronation. The 31-year-old singer, who rose to fame in 2008, shared the clip with her podcast co-host Chiara Hunter on Instagram.
In the video, the pair wear plastic crowns and sing about King Charles' relationships with Camilla and Diana. The song includes a voiceover from Princess Diana's famous interview, where she said, 'Well there was three of us in this marriage,' followed by the duo singing, 'But only one can be Queen – Camilla.'
The video also features an image of Princess Diana in her iconic 'revenge dress' with the words 'waste of time' scrawled over it. The caption read: 'QUEEN CAMILLA (the ultimate long game) For all you side pieces out there… stay focused.'
Royal fans quickly condemned the post, with one calling it 'evil' and another branding it 'disrespectful'. Vickers responded to criticism on her Instagram story with a simple 'Happy Friday x' and later dismissed claims she was a Tory, calling the accusation 'the most hilarious thing I've heard all week'.
