Deborra-Lee Furness appeared to make a veiled dig at her ex-husband, Hugh Jackman, after he attended the Met Gala with his girlfriend, Sutton Foster. The 70-year-old actress left a cryptic comment on a post by Kerry Washington, who was promoting her TV series Imperfect Woman.
Kerry Washington had captioned a clip: 'Eleanor core #ImperfectWomen episode 5 is out NOW. And you cannot trust ANYBODY…EVER.' Deborra-Lee responded: 'HILARIOUS... so true,' echoing her previous comments about 'betrayal' in her marriage to Jackman. The comment received dozens of thumbs-up emojis from fans.
Jackman's appearance at the Met Gala on May 4 with Foster was seen as a 'final blow' to Furness, who had attended the event with him multiple times since their debut in 2004. Fans criticised Jackman as 'disrespectful', with one saying: 'Thumbs down! It's forever team Debbie over here!' Another added: 'I lost big respect for him.'
Furness broke her silence on the split last year, telling the Daily Mail: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It's a profound wound that cuts deep.' She added: 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.'
Jackman and Furness announced their separation in September 2023, saying in a joint statement: 'We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.' They share two children, Oscar and Ava.
Jackman is now dating Sutton Foster, whom he confirmed as his girlfriend on January 6, 2025. The couple made their red carpet debut in October 2024 at the Song Sung Blue premiere during AFI Fest.
