Davina McCall has led tributes to TV presenter Emily Hartridge, who died at the age of 35 following an accident. The former Big Brother host took to Instagram to express her condolences, writing: “My heart goes out to Emily’s family and friends. Such a shock. Sending you love and prayers.”
Emily Hartridge was best known for her YouTube series 10 Reasons Why, which had over 300,000 subscribers. She also hosted Channel 4 show S**t I’m 30 and worked as a personal trainer. The news of her death was announced on her Instagram page, which has 44,000 followers.
The statement posted on her account read: “Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits and she will never be forgotten. She has touched so many lives it's hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person.”
Other celebrities and fans also paid tribute. Made in Chelsea star Ashley James wrote: “Sending you all so much love. So devastated.” Calum Best commented: “Jesus Christ no way this is so sad I'm so sorry.” One fan added: “Emily has always been my favourite YouTuber and she has helped me so much through her insta posts.”
Emily recently spoke about her relationship with boyfriend Jacob Hazell, a fellow personal trainer, and her decision to freeze her eggs. She described him as supportive during the process.
