Damian Hurley has taken a firm stand against swirling rumours suggesting a rift with his mother, actress Elizabeth Hurley, following her public romance with country music star Billy Ray Cyrus.

The 25-year-old model and actor directly addressed the speculation this week via a lengthy post on his Instagram. He stated that while he rarely comments on media stories, the recent claims were so false that he felt compelled to offer clarity.
"For the record: I adore @billyraycyrus and think he’s one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met," Damian wrote. "I love seeing my mom so happy." He went on to praise Billy Ray's children and emphasised that everyone gets along beautifully, labelling any contrary claims as "yawn-inducing and tediously untrue".
A Modern Family Dynamic
In his post, Damian also celebrated his "very modern family," giving a shout-out to his cherished father figure, Arun Nayar, and his stepsiblings. He expressed feeling blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support, concluding that he is "grateful for the truth we live despite the stories others write for us."
This statement comes after sources claimed Damian was unhappy about the singer's presence in his mother's life. Reports indicated that the young Hurley had moved out of his mother's home and into his own flat in Earl’s Court, West London, earlier this year, shortly after Elizabeth, 60, went public with Cyrus, 64.
Mother and Son Forging New Paths
A close family source confirmed to the Daily Mail that while some distance has developed between mother and son recently, they remain best friends. The source suggested that Elizabeth is deeply in the "honeymoon phase" with Cyrus, spending significant time at his Tennessee ranch, while Damian is now "starting to carve his own path" socially.
