Coronation Street star Sam Aston is set to become a father for the fourth time. The actor, best known for his role as Chesney on the iconic cobbles, announced the delightful news alongside his wife Briony, who is expecting their fourth child.

The couple already share three children: Sonny, aged five, Daisy, four, and two-year-old Hazel. Briony took to Instagram to share a humorous video of the children being pulled along the floor by Sam, revealing the pregnancy. In the clip, little Hazel is seen beaming while holding onto an ultrasound scan of her soon-to-be sibling.

Sam and Briony tied the knot in 2019 in a lavish ceremony in Cheshire. The pair first met as teenagers. While Sam has been a mainstay on the ITV soap since 2008, Briony works as a birth doula, providing non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support to mothers during childbirth. She is also a qualified yoga instructor.
Briony recently shared an update on her Instagram Stories, explaining her decision to slow down work due to the pregnancy. She wrote: "Now we’ve announced our news to the world, you can see why I’ve closed my books for mid-October onwards for in-person doula support. I’ve been at a couple of births while heavily pregnant in the past and I’ve found it’s just not practical with a huge bump. Plus I’ll need some time to protect my own headspace in the lead up to my own bump. Doulas need to birth prep too!"
