Coronation Street spoilers for next week have confirmed a major update on the secret between Gary Windass and Sarah Platt, leaving Maria Connor devastated. The mystery surrounding the pair has intensified following the recent murder of cobbles villain Theo Silverton.
Murder Investigation Continues
Only recently, Theo Silverton was found murdered in a huge whodunnit that has gripped Weatherfield. The suspects so far include Theo's estranged husband Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Gary, Summer Spellman, George's partner Christina Boyd, and Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton. In recent scenes, Summer was arrested and imprisoned for the crime despite pleading her innocence, while exes Gary and Sarah have been acting suspiciously as they try to hide a secret.
Last week, Gary confessed to Sarah that whatever they are concealing has worn him down, revealing he 'doesn't know how much more he can take' and 'can't do this anymore'.
Maria's Suspicions Grow
In upcoming episodes, Gary's wife Maria Connor becomes increasingly suspicious. She spots Gary and Sarah sharing a hug, after which Gary insists they must delete all their messages. Later, a devastated Maria opens up to Fiz and Izzy, expressing her fear that Gary is having an affair with Sarah. She wonders if she can prove their alleged infidelity.
The next day, Todd tells Sarah that Maria suspects her of having an affair with Gary. Sarah is left to decide whether to come clean about what the pair are actually hiding.
Gary's Attempt to Deflect
Meanwhile, a sombre Maria tells Gary they need to talk. Masking his unease, Gary suggests they meet for a curry later to discuss things. Towards the end of the week, Gary reveals he has booked a surprise holiday for the whole family. Izzy, Jake, and Liam are thrilled, but Maria remains suspicious. She confides in Izzy that she believes Gary is cheating on her with Sarah and booked the holiday to ease his guilt.
Kit Green's Romantic Plans
Elsewhere, Sarah's partner Kit Green makes significant strides in their relationship. He confides in Sarah's daughter Bethany that he is thinking of asking Sarah to marry him. Later, when Harry admits he likes having Kit around, Kit reassures him the feeling is mutual. At the end of the week, Kit admires the engagement ring he has bought for Sarah.
