Corrie signs Rosie Fleeshman from soap star family

Coronation Street bosses have signed a new star from a legendary soap family, bringing Rosie Fleeshman in for a guest role on the cobbles. Viewers may recognise her other family members, as they have all appeared on the ITV soap before.

Rosie Fleeshman joins Corrie cast

According to reports, Rosie Fleeshman is set to enter the show for a guest role, but she is not the only member of her family to have graced the streets of Weatherfield. The soap has already seen her brother Richard and her parents Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman previously join the show.

The news has not been officially confirmed by ITV, as it continues its shake-up of the soap in an effort to keep viewers watching. However, Rosie is a trained actress who is set to cause a stir when she sets foot on Coronation Street.

Rosie's family history on the show

Rosie's brother Richard Fleeshman used the soap as a springboard into his later career. Now aged 32, he first joined the soap 24 years ago playing the role of Craig Harris. He entered as a dark and gothy character, catching the attention of Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan. The pair ended up breaking up, and after four years on the cobbles, he left in 2006.

Since then, Richard has become a singing sensation on the West End, landing his first role in Legally Blonde shortly after leaving the soap. He is now a certified theatre star and also shot to fame as a singer-songwriter, supporting Elton John during his 2008 tour. His TV career boosted his musical talents after he became the youngest person to win the celebrity edition of Stars in their Eyes at age 13.

But Richard is not the only family member to walk the cobbles. Mum Sue Jenkins starred as Gloria Todd in the 1980s, while dad David played notorious bad boy Charlie Aindow in the 1990s and has been involved in various ways since 1978.

Richard recently married his partner Celinde Schoenmaker in an intimate ceremony with only family present. He admitted he felt bad that no friends were allowed, but there would be a big party in the works.
