Coronation Street Casts Rosie Fleeshman, Daughter of Sue Jenkins

The daughter of a Coronation Street legend is reportedly set to follow in her famous parents' footsteps by making her debut on the iconic cobbles. Rosie Fleeshman, the daughter of Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman, has reportedly joined the ITV soap for a guest stint, according to The Sun.

Sue Jenkins joined the cast of the long-running ITV soap in 1985 as Gloria Todd, becoming a familiar face at the Rovers Return until her departure in 1988. During her time as Gloria, she pulled pints alongside two of the show's most beloved cast members — Bet Lynch actress Julie Goodyear and Betty Williams actress Betty Driver.

Beyond her Corrie days, Sue went on to portray Jackie Corkhill in Brookside from 1992 to 2001, and made a brief cameo in Emmerdale in 2008 as Bonnie Drinkwater. Her husband David Fleeshman played 'bad boy' Charlie Aindow during the 90s and later appeared in EastEnders in 1995 as Mr Soames. He has also taken on numerous roles in Emmerdale, including Rupert Jonas, DI Drake and John Widnes, as well as featuring in It's A Sin in 2021 and The Teacher as Roger in 2022.

Richard Fleeshman's Coronation Street Legacy

Notably, Sue and David's son, Richard Fleeshman, also graced Coronation Street as Craig Harris from 2002 to 2006. The character embarked on a romance with Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) and became her first boyfriend. In a memorable storyline, the pair embraced a goth lifestyle. Yet in 2006, Craig departed for Berlin without Rosie and bid farewell to Weatherfield.

After leaving Corrie behind, the gifted actor went on to chase his ambitions of becoming a West End performer. He has since racked up numerous television appearances, featuring in programmes such as Call the Midwife, Death in Paradise and Netflix's The Sandman. He also made a recent appearance in the BBC series Riot Women.

Viewers may recall that her brother Richard made his soap debut as Craig back in 2002 with his family, with the teenager playing a significant role in several dramatic storylines throughout his time on the show.

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
