Coronation Street and Emmerdale Schedule Changes Tonight for World Cup
Coronation Street and Emmerdale Get Extended Episodes Tonight

ITV's Coronation Street and Emmerdale face more schedule changes tonight. The soaps have been removed from their usual time slots due to ITV's coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, it's good news for soap fans as both Corrie and Emmerdale will air in one-hour long time slots, instead of their usual 30 minute broadcasts. The soaps face more cancellations this week.

Neither Coronation Street nor Emmerdale will air on Wednesday or Thursday this week. To make up for the missing episodes, viewers will be treated to an hour in the Dales followed by an hour in Weatherfield tonight.

Emmerdale will air at 8pm until 9pm, with Coronation Street running from 9pm until 10pm.

The description for tonight's drama in the Dales reads: "At the hospital, Cain and Moira are told that although the surgery was successful, tests show it is highly likely the cancer has spread beyond the prostate, leaving them devastated not to have gotten the all clear. Caleb pressures a reluctant Billy into doing a pick-up for their illegal side hustle - and warns him to keep their scheme a secret from Jai."

There's even more chaos in Weatherfield, as tonight's description said: "Tyrone and Ronnie are trapped as Kevin and Carl try to call the shots, and Brody welcomes protection from some formidable females. Todd relays Maria's theory to Sarah, Kit plots a proposal, Nick blames Ben for Sam's suffering, and Betsy delivers important news of her future to Dylan."

Fans were left wondering why both Corrie and Emmerdale have been extended to one hour, but the schedule change is due to the fact both soaps have been cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

ITV is broadcasting live from the FIFA World Cup. England vs Croatia kicks off at 9pm on Wednesday, and Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina kicks off at 8pm on Thursday. This means both soaps have been cancelled.

Corrie and Emmerdale return on Friday evening, in their usual time slots. Emmerdale will air from 8pm until 8.30pm and Coronation Street will be screened from 8.30pm until 9pm.
