Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Resigns After Coldplay Kiss Cam Incident

Andy Byron, the married CEO of software startup Astronomer, has resigned after being caught on camera at a Coldplay concert with the company's HR head, Kristin Cabot. The firm announced his resignation on Saturday, stating that the board had accepted it.

The incident occurred at a Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where the pair were shown on the Jumbotron with their arms around each other. The video went viral, leading to both Byron and Cabot being placed on leave on Friday.

In a LinkedIn post, Astronomer said: 'Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.' The company added that its leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and that recently, that standard was not met.

Byron had been CEO since 2023, and Cabot joined as head of HR in 2024. In her hiring announcement, Byron praised her leadership and expertise. The company now aims to move past the scrutiny, emphasising its continued focus on helping customers with data and AI problems.
