Claudia Winkleman Steps Down from Film 2016

Claudia Winkleman has announced her departure from the BBC's flagship movie review programme, Film 2016, after six years as host. The presenter, who also co-hosts Strictly Come Dancing, said the decision was difficult but that the show 'simply deserves someone who can give it their all'.

Winkleman took over from Jonathan Ross in 2010, who had succeeded Barry Norman in 1999. She co-presented with Danny Leigh, who will remain on the show alongside a new presenter when it returns in the autumn.

Mark Bell, BBC head of arts commissioning, expressed gratitude for Winkleman's contributions, stating: 'We’ve loved having Claudia on Film 2016 and I’d like to thank her for all her hard work and commitment to the show.'
