Christian Bujeau Dead at 81: Beloved French Actor and Stuntman Passes Away
Christian Bujeau Dead at 81: Tributes Pour In for French Star

Beloved French actor Christian Bujeau has died at the age of 81. The star passed away on Monday, June 15, as confirmed by his agency, Singularist. No cause of death was disclosed.

From Stuntman to Screen Star

Bujeau began his career as a stuntman, trained by Claude Nadal, who worked on the epic film Ben Hur. For over 15 years, he led jousting tournaments worldwide. This equestrian expertise led to one of his most iconic roles: the fencing master in the TV series Kaamelot. In 2019, he explained how the part came about after speaking with creator Alexandre Astier about his stunt work. "When I told him about my background as a horse stuntman, he created for me the part of the weapons master. We spent five wonderful years together, for all five seasons."

Big Screen Success

Bujeau also made a mark on cinema, earning acclaim in 1993 for his role in The Visitors as Jean-Pierre Goulard, a fed-up dentist. He reprised the role in a 1995 sequel, joking he took the film "because I loved my kids and wanted them to eat." His filmography includes comedies such as Pédale douce (1996), La Vérité si je mens 2 (2001), and Alibi.com (2017).
