Chloe Madeley and her former husband James Haskell have reunited for a family outing with their three-year-old daughter Bodhi, marking their first public appearance together since their separation in 2023. The ex-couple, who were married for five years, were photographed in high spirits during a lunch date at L'artista Pizzeria in Golders Green, London, on Tuesday.
First Sighting Since Dramatic Car Crash
This sighting comes just weeks after James Haskell was involved in a serious road traffic collision in north London that left his Range Rover extensively damaged. According to Metropolitan Police reports, the incident occurred on Finchley Road on March 28th when James' vehicle collided with a BMW whose driver fled the scene. Chloe Madeley reportedly came to James' assistance following the crash, helping remove their daughter's toys from the damaged vehicle.
Co-Parenting in the Public Eye
Despite their divorce, both Chloe and James have emphasized their commitment to co-parenting their daughter constructively. James Haskell previously spoke about their separation on This Morning, stating: 'Chloe is an amazing mum, an amazing woman. She is so talented and smart, and brilliant at what she does. When you get separated, the priority always becomes the child and your egos don't matter.'
The personal trainer has been open about the challenges of their divorce process, describing it as 'very volatile' and emotionally taxing in an interview with The Sun. Chloe revealed that while they now have periods where they get along well, there are also weeks of disagreement and frustration that sometimes lead to communication breakdowns.
Moving Forward Separately
Since their separation, James Haskell briefly dated Big Brother star Sara McLean, though that relationship ended just two days after becoming public. Chloe Madeley has firmly ruled out any reconciliation with her ex-husband, explaining that their marriage had become 'dark', 'sad' and 'painful' toward the end.
During their recent family outing, both parents appeared relaxed and engaged with their daughter. Chloe wore a white t-shirt with pale blue denim jeans, while former rugby player James sported grey chinos and a white muscle-fit tee. Bodhi was seen enjoying the day from her father's shoulders while Chloe carried her daughter's coat and toys.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed Bodhi the following year, have navigated their separation while maintaining a focus on their daughter's wellbeing. James has acknowledged receiving messages from other men going through similar situations who look to his public handling of the divorce for guidance.
Chloe Madeley admitted that receiving the final divorce papers in December last year made her feel like she had 'failed', but she has since implemented strategies to avoid major conflicts, explaining that she left the marriage specifically to escape constant disagreement.
