The upcoming Celebrity Traitors UK on BBC One and iPlayer has generated significant buzz, with the show set to premiere on Wednesday 8th October. While the winner will take home £100,000 for charity, a recent podcast has revealed that all celebrity participants are receiving a flat fee of £40,000 for their involvement.
Columnist Marina Hyde disclosed the figure on her podcast 'The Rest Is Entertainment', explaining that the BBC offered a blanket payment to secure a high-calibre cast. The fee, though substantial, is notably lower than the sums paid by ITV's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, where contestants like Coleen Rooney and Nigel Farage reportedly earned over £1.5 million.
The cast includes well-known names such as Paloma Faith, Alan Carr, and Stephen Fry, who will compete in the reality show's celebrity edition. Filming lasted only a few weeks, making the £40,000 fee a lucrative deal for the participants.
Celebrity Traitors UK airs at 9pm on Wednesday 8th October on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
