Celebrity Traitors star Cat Burns has proudly showcased the results of her recent breast reduction surgery in an emotional TikTok video. The 25-year-old singer underwent the procedure earlier this month after enduring years of physical discomfort and struggling with unwanted sexualisation of her body.
A New Chapter of Confidence
In her heartfelt social media post, Cat celebrated wearing a tight-fitting top for the first time since her operation. She revealed that for years she had hidden behind baggy, masculine clothing to conceal her figure. "I can't really cope," she told her followers. "I got a breast reduction last Wednesday and this is my first time wearing a tight top!"
The singer explained how she had previously resorted to wearing extremely tight sports bras that caused significant back pain, yet still failed to properly contain her breasts. "I was always good at hiding my breasts because I was wearing really, really tight sports bras which hurt my back," she confessed. "They weren't really in the bra properly."
Freedom from Physical and Emotional Burden
Cat expressed overwhelming relief at her new proportional figure, stating she no longer feels compelled to dress in a masculine style. "Now I'm wearing a top and my body is in proportion and I don't know what to do with myself," she shared. "It's also making me feel like I don't have to dress so masculine all the time."
Displaying her transformed silhouette to the camera, the BRIT Award-nominated artist continued: "Look at me now. Look at my stance. Look at my hips. My breasts were holding me back. Now the lack of breast, I can literally wear what I want. The world is my oyster." She offered encouragement to others considering similar surgery, adding: "If you want to get a breast reduction, I think you should. The world will be your oyster."
Years of Struggle and Decision
Cat had previously opened up to her followers about her decision-making process, explaining she initially hesitated to share her journey publicly. "I was going back and forth on whether I was gonna share this but I know I've built an understanding community of people!" she wrote in an earlier post.
The singer described experiencing "joyful tears" of relief after seeing family members post-surgery. She detailed how her breast development from age twelve had caused persistent pain during exercise and brought unwelcome sexual attention. "I've always struggled with my boobies since they arrived on my chest at like 12," Cat revealed. "They caused me so much pain when exercising and I deeply hated the over-sexualisation it brought."
After trying various bras and coping strategies without success, Cat decided to pursue surgery while young and healthy. "I thought while I'm young and healthy and by the universes grace am able to go this surgery I want to love my body going into the next part of my life!" she explained. "Today marks the start of my new life!"
Connection to Celebrity Traitors Experience
This personal revelation follows Cat's recent appearance on the BBC's Celebrity Traitors, where she was the last woman standing in the finale before being banished in the final roundtable. The singer later suggested on BBC Breakfast that her gender may have contributed to her elimination.
Cat theorised that if Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway hadn't been banished earlier, having two women remaining might have improved her chances. "In hindsight, I think if we didn't banish Kate before, I probably would have had a chance as there would have been two women left," she reflected. "Then they could have been like, 'Is it Cat, is it Kate?' Because Kate was gone, I was the last one left so then they were like: 'It has to be her'."
Despite her Traitors elimination, Cat's surgical journey represents a significant personal victory. From her hospital bed post-operation, she shared her positive recovery experience, noting she performed affirmations before and after surgery and planned to watch Traitors while recuperating.
