East London hotspot Cafe 1001 is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a massive birthday bash, bringing together top DJs, resident favorites, and music lovers for a special weekend. The iconic Brick Lane venue has announced a two-day event on August 28 and 29, featuring a lineup of artists and collaborators.
Friday Night Headliner
The celebrations kick off on Friday, August 28, with a late-night party headlined by Charlie Dark MBE, a renowned DJ, producer, poet, and co-founder of Attica Blues. He will be joined by long-time Cafe 1001 collaborator Chris Wheatley, with more acts to be announced.
Saturday All-Day Takeover
On Saturday, the venue's resident selectors will host an all-day takeover, with sets from Lucide, Gaby D'Annunzio, Hannah Lamb, and Eman Pav, alongside the popular 1001 All-Stars.
Cafe 1001 Creative Director Luca Pilato emphasized the anniversary is about recognizing the people who shaped the venue over 25 years. He said, "Cafe 1001 is one of those venues that belongs to the people who use it and has always evolved. We've had first dates turn into marriages celebrated at our venue, staff members have become resident DJs, customers have become lifelong friends, and generations have passed through our doors."
He added, "This 25th birthday weekend is a celebration of everyone who has made Cafe 1001 what it is. After taking our programming on tour around the UK, it felt right to bring it all back home to Brick Lane: The Homecoming."
The anniversary follows a year-long European Hi-Fi Tour, where the venue connected with music and audio-focused spaces across Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, and France. Founded on Brick Lane more than 25 years ago, Cafe 1001 has become a cornerstone of London's nightlife, nurturing emerging talent while hosting internationally recognized artists.
With a packed lineup and a community-focused celebration, the venue prepares to mark its biggest milestone yet.
